Women’s Golf Concludes Regular Season with Final Round of Wyoming Cowgirl Classic

FINAL RESULTS

MARICOPA, Ariz. - Kaitlyn Saum shot a final round of 70 to finish in a tie for 15th at three-over as the Northern Arizona University women's golf team wrapped up its regular season with the final day of the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club on Tuesday morning.

The Lumberjacks closed out the tournament in 12th-place at 34-over.

Saum led the way with her performance as she finished tied for fifth with 40 pars. She also recorded six birdies.

Sofia Anokhina was right behind Saum and finished in a tie for 21st at four-over. She ended the classic tied for 14th in birdies with nine.

Sierra Bezdicek came in a tie for 51st with an 11-over performance. Lexi Kenne finished up in a tie for 76th at 16-over.

Emma Reyes rounded out the NAU scoring attack in a tie for 103rd with a 26-over showing.

Carly Akine also competed at the tournament but did so as an individual and finished tied for 56th at 12-over. She recorded 10 birdies, which was tied for ninth-most at the event.

Loren Skibba also competed but after opening the tournament with a four-over 76 she was forced to withdraw due to injury.

Sacramento State won the Cowgirl Classic with a 10-under performance. New Mexico State (+12), San Francisco (+13), Santa Clara (+18) and UTEP (+22) made up the tournament's top five.

The Lumberjacks will be back on the links for the Big Sky Championships Friday, April 20 through Sunday, April 22 at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada.
