LIVE STATS | MEET SCHEDULE | FRIDAY HEAT SHEETS | SATURDAY PROGRAM
TEMPE, Ariz. - The Northern Arizona University track and field program heads to Tempe, Ariz. for Arizona State University's 39th annual Sun Angel Classic Friday and Saturday at Sun Angel Stadium.
It is the fourth meet of the outdoor season for the Lumberjacks who are fresh off solid performances at two national caliber meets at Stanford University and the University of Texas, March 29-31. The sprints, distances, and jump groups competed at the Stanford Invitational while the throwing unit was at the Texas Relays.
It is also the second time fans will get the chance to make the short drive to Tempe after the team competed at the Baldy Castillo Invitational back on March 16-17.
"We're excited to get another shot to come down to compete at Arizona State," director of track and field Michael Smith said. "We have been working through our process and while I have been very happy with the results up to this point, our athletes know we have some more work to do still before the Big Sky Championships and regionals. We are looking for this meet to be another positive step towards our outdoor season goals."
The field at ASU will be one of the best the Lumberjacks will see during the outdoor regular season as the meet will play host to nine ranked programs including a top five women's program (No. 4 USC) and two of the top six men's programs (No. 5 USC and No. 6 Texas Tech).
The weather calls for nothing but perfection at the meet with both Friday and Saturday calling for partly cloudy skies to go with high temperatures between 91-93 degrees. There is a zero percent chance of precipitation.
