During the fall, the football team sat atop the standings for the majority of the season before tying for third overall in the league and earning an at-large bid to the Football Championship Subdivision Playoffs.

The men's track and field program won its seventh consecutive indoor title and followed it up in the outdoor season winning its sixth conference championship in seven years.

The All-Sports Awards play an integral role in the race for the Big Sky Conference Presidents' Cup, mixed with an academic component. Institutional scores are calculated by dividing total points by the number of Big Sky sponsored sports the institution sponsors. Indoor track & field and outdoor track & field All-Sports points are averaged to create one point for track & field.
