FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (May 2, 2018) – The final totals are in, and for the second consecutive year over $30,000 was raised at the 18th Annual Lumberjack Golf Classic presented by OneAZ Credit Union. The annual golf tournament held last Saturday, April 28 benefitting the Lumberjack Athletic Association brought in a haul for student-athlete scholarships.
"The Lumberjack Golf Classic continues to raise tremendous support and awareness for the NAU Athletic Department's greatest need – scholarship funding," said
Derek Petruskevich, Director of Development – Annual Giving. "I can't thank our attendees enough, and I hope they enjoyed what we believe is an engaging, exciting and fun event."
With pristine weather over Continental Country Club, a total of 144 golfers competed in the tournament. Over 60 student-athletes volunteered at the event, and greeted the tournament participants with on-course activities ranging from corn hole to basketball spinning stroke savers. Other on-course activities included longest drive and closest to the pin.
