NAU Athletics Records 3.10 Department GPA During Fall Semester

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (January 17, 2019) – The Northern Arizona University Athletics Department enjoyed a stellar academic semester in the fall with the Lumberjacks compiling a 3.10 cumulative grade point average. NAU's 358 student-athletes combined for the department's second-highest term GPA since data tracking began in Fall 1997.
 
"I was pleased to see the success our student-athletes had in the classroom following the fall semester," said Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Mike Marlow. "I applaud our student-athlete development staff as well for their continued work with our 358 student-athletes and achieving this remarkable grade point average."
 
A total of 47 student-athletes were perfect in the classroom with a 4.00 fall semester GPA. Overall, 30 student-athletes currently hold a 4.00 cumulative GPA.
 
The NAU women's cross country team led the department with a 3.60 team grade point average in the fall.
 
"I'm very proud of our student-athletes and their commitment to academic excellence," said Associate AD for Student-Athlete Development Michael Kallsen. "The performance during the fall semester was outstanding and we will continue to develop a culture of academic success at NAU."
 
The Spring 2019 semester commenced on Monday on the Northern Arizona University campus.
