NEW ORLEANS, La. (October 8, 2019) - Northern Arizona's men's cross country team was ranked as the No. 1 team in the latest  U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Coaches' Poll for the 26th week in a row on Tuesday morning.

NAU was ranked No. 1 and BYU was ranked No. 2, making it the 13th straight week with the 'Jacks and Cougars atop the Men's National Coaches' Poll. Both squads were idle this past week, but will return to the course in two weeks with NAU taking on the Nuttycombe Invitational in Madison, Wis., and BYU racing at the Pre-National Invitational in Terre Haute, Ind.

Colorado came in at No. 3 with No. 4 Washington and No. 5 Stanford rounding out the top-five.

The Lumberjack men received ten first-place votes. The only other school to receive any first-place votes was Stanford (1 fpv). The only other Big Sky Conference school in the men's poll was Southern Utah who received votes but did not crack the top-30.

Northern Arizona's women's crew stayed in the No. 27 spot for the second consecutive week. The Lumberjack women will also race at Nuttycombe on Oct. 18. No other Big Sky Conference schools were featured in the latest poll.

Due to a lull in the schedule, there will not be a National Coaches' Poll next week. The next poll is scheduled to be released  on Oct.22 following the final major weekend of the regular season.
