Stomp Selected to CoSIDA Academic All-District 8 First Team for Third Straight Year

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (November 14, 2019) – For the third consecutive year, Northern Arizona volleyball senior Abby Stomp was voted to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 8 First Team in a release by CoSIDA Thursday morning. As a First Team honoree, Stomp will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot to be announced in early December.

Stomp's academic record remains unblemished as the senior setter maintains a 4.00 cumulative grade point average in biology. She is the first Lumberjack volleyball player to be a three-time Academic All-District First Team honoree.

Stomp was the only player on the seven-member District 8 First Team not from the Pac-12 Conference. She was joined by Stanford's Audriana Fitzmorris and Meghan McClure, Washington's Shayne McPherson and Lauren Sanders, Utah's Kenzie Koerber and California's Mima Mirkovic.

Furthermore, Stomp was the only Big Sky Conference student-athlete on any of the eight districts' First Team with Northern Colorado's Taylor Els selected to the District 7 Second Team.

Stomp leads the Lumberjacks with 601 assists at 6.01 per set and is also averaging 1.38 digs per set. She has also totaled 10 service aces and has started 23 of 26 matches this season thus far while appearing in all 100 sets.

Stomp, an Albuquerque, N.M. native, will now look to join Lauren Campbell (2011) as the only Academic All-Americans in program history.
