AUSTIN, Texas (December 9, 2019) – In an announcement by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Monday, Northern Arizona volleyball senior Abby Stomp was named to the 2019 Academic All-America Third Team. Stomp joins Lauren Campbell (2011) as the only Academic All-Americans in NAU Volleyball program history.

Stomp is one of 21 student-athletes honored on the Academic All-America teams across all of Division I and is one of 12 who boast a perfect 4.00 grade point average. Stomp will participate in this week's fall commencement ceremonies and graduate with her degree in biology and minor in chemistry.

The Albuquerque, N.M. native earned Academic All-America honors after becoming the first Lumberjack volleyball three-time Academic All-District First Team honoree last month. Also last month, Stomp was awarded with the prestigious NAU Gold Axe award.

The soon-to-be three-time Big Sky All-Academic selection concluded her career in the Blue & Gold seventh all-time with 2,534 career assists. She is also ninth in program history with 6.98 assists per set.

Stomp appeared in all 95 matches, with 88 starts, over her last three seasons. In her final season this fall, Stomp led the team with 6.01 assists per set and totaled 745 assists in addition to averaging 1.41 digs per set.
