FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (February 26, 2019) – Long distance runner
Peter Lomong and his older brother Lopez Lomong will both make an appearance tonight with their family on
Real Sports With Bryant Gumble on HBO Sports on Tuesday, Feb. 26 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT & 9:00 p.m. CT.
In 2007,
Real Sports detailed track star Lopez Lomong's amazing tale of survival, which began when he was kidnapped and recruited to be a boy soldier in Sudan's brutal civil war. One of the "Lost Boys of Sudan," Lomong would ultimately escape and make his way to the U.S. as a refugee, then flourish in life and sport, becoming a track star and two-time Olympian. The story also captured Lomong's emotional reunion in Africa with his family, from whom he'd been separated for 17 years. Since that report, Lomong's two young brothers have forged their own path to the U.S. and have also thrived on the track. Mary Carillo catches up with the Lomong family for the latest installment in their remarkable saga.
