CAMP SCHEDULE
Â
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The fifth annual Northern Arizona Lumberjack Cross Country Camp will be held at NAU's Flagstaff Campus on July 17th-21st.
Â
Get the opportunity to train and work with the three-time defending NCAA Division I Cross Country National Champions and coaching staff in the long distance capital of the U.S.
Â
The five day camp will give participants the experience of getting to train on endless high altitude trails, a coaching staff with proven experience at every level, guest speakers with world and Olympic titles to their name all while surrounded by the defending three-time National Cross Country Champions from NAU.
Â
Northern Arizona's Director of Cross Country and Track & Field
Michael Smith will be hosting the camp with assistant coach
Becca DeLoache.
Â
"We are looking forward to this year's upcoming Northern Arizona Lumberjack Cross Country Camp," DeLoache said. "We are grateful for all the love and support we receive from young aspiring high school athletes. This camp is our way to give back to them by showing them the ins and outs of what it's like to be one of the NAU cross country athletes.."
Â
"Campers get the opportunity to run the same trails, receive the same training, sleep in the same dorms, and eat the same food as our three time cross country national champions," DeLoache added.
Â
Campers will be able to thrive in a training environment that will be based on specialized training, continued running education and individualized attention. Attendees will run with and learn from the Northern Arizona University coaches and athletes. Additionally, they will receive exposure to our beautiful mountain town that many elite and Olympic level runners call home during their altitude training camps.
Â
"Our mission is to aid each camper in their individual journey to become the best runner they can be," DeLoache added. "We will provide campers with all necessary training components that they can take with them and implement back at their high schools."
