MEN'S USTFCCCA REGIONAL RANKINGS
NEW ORLEANS, La. (September 16, 2019) - The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association released its second week of regional rankings on Monday afternoon.
Northern Arizona's women's cross country team moved up two spots in the Mountain Regional Rankings from No. 6 to No. 4, while the Lumberjack men stayed in the No. 1 spot in the region for the 23rd consecutive week.
Southern Utah, another Big Sky Conference school, also broke into the top five in the women's regional rankings this week coming in at No. 5. New Mexico and Utah both dropped out of the top five.Â
Nothing changed in the Men's Mountain Region in Week 1.
Northern Arizona and BYU continue to headline the chart. The Lumberjacks had a tough test against one of Japan's top collegiate teams at the season-opening George Kyte Invitational, while the Cougars rolled to an easy win at the BYU Autumn Classic.
The rest of the top-5 is rounded out by Colorado, Colorado State and Wyoming.
The 'Jacks will be back on the course this weekend in Terre Haute, Ind., at the John McNichols Invitational hosted by Indiana State University. Both squads will compete on the national level for the first time this season.
