FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (September 22, 2019) - Northern Arizona University's women's golf program will be making its way to Coeur a'Alene, Idaho on Sept. 23 for the opening day of the Coeur d'Alene Collegiate Invitational hosted by Gonzaga University. The two day tournament will be take place at the Coeur d'Alene Resort Golf Course.Â
This will be the second of five tournaments this fall for the Lumberjack golf crew.
NAU will face a two day/54-hole tournament. The tournament will begin at 8:00 A.M. (MST) on Monday, Sept. 23 and at 7:45 A.M. (MST) on Tuesday, Sept. 24. The first two rounds will be conducted on Monday with the third and final round taking place on Tuesday.
The Invite will feature two other Big Sky Conference schools in Idaho and Portland State.Â
The Lumberjack women are fresh off of a strong team performance at the 2019 fall season opener. At the Hobble Creek Fall Classic the 'Jacks placed third as a team and saw sophomore
Aleksandra Chekalina lead the way with a third-place finish as well on the player leaderboard.Â
Northern Arizona's lineup looks to have Chekalina joined by fellow sophomore's
Elle Kocourkova and
Ashley Croft, along with true freshman
Alyza Flores and senior
Emma Reyes.Â
Last season the 'Jacks struggled at the Coeur d'Alene Collegiate Invitational placing 13th on the team leaderboard. A summer full of valuable experience across the globe and a hot start to the 2019 fall season look to change that outcome in a major way this upcoming week.Â
