USTFCCCA Women's Regional Rankings
NEW ORLEANS, La. (September 30, 2019) - The latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA) Regional Rankings for cross country were released on Monday morning. Northern Arizona University's men's cross country team were ranked as the No. 1 squad in the NCAA Division I Mountain Region for the 25th consecutive week; the NAU women dropped one spot from last week to No. 4 despite not having competed this past weekend.
On the men's side there weren't any changes among the top-5 teams of the Mountain Region between Week 2 and Week 3. No. 1 NAU and No. 2 BYU are both still favored to earn automatic bids to NCAA's. Colorado, Colorado State and Wyoming still sit in the No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 spots respectively.Â
There was a little shuffling among teams in the Mountain Region for the women from Week 2 to Week 3.
The top two teams in the region, No. 1 BYU and No. 2 Colorado, held steady. No. 3 Air Force and No. 4 Northern Arizona continue to flip flop rankings. Air Force jumped up one spot from their third place performance behind BYU and Boise State, while beating out Oregon, at the Bill Dellinger Invitational. Big Sky Conference rival Southern Utah remained at No. 5.
The NAU XC program will return to the course on Oct. 18 for the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational in Madison, Wisc.
