FARMINGTON, Utah (Sept. 21, 2021) – Northern Arizona's All-American, Abdihamid Nur has been awarded Big Sky Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week.
Last weekend, the NAU men traveled to Stillwater, Okla. to compete against some of the top teams in the nation at the Cowboy Jamboree, ultimately earning first place overall, atop of No. 6 Oklahoma State, No. 12 Colorado, Texas, and No. 8 Tulsa.
The defending Big Sky individual champion, was the first Lumberjack across the finish line, running the 8K course in 23:40.4 to grab third, with fellow NAU All-Americans Nico Young and Drew Bosley sequentially following, placing three Lumberjacks in the top-five.
Nur's leadership at the meet was instrumental to the team's success; their performance on Saturday allowed them to remain No. 1 in the USTFCCCA National Poll.
