BOZEMAN, Mont. (February 24, 2022) - Madeline Wilson sets a new Northern Arizona University women's 60-meter hurdles record and places fifth in the women's pentathlon at the Big Sky Championships.
Madeline Wilson began the women's pentathlon with a stellar, school record, 60-meter hurdle performance, running 8.57 to earn 1,002 points in the event, and gaining the the lead; Wilson broke her own NAU record of 8.64, that was set only a few days earlier in the Skydome.Â
However, her momentum did not stop there, in fact, Wilson high jumped a lifetime personal best of 1.66 meters to score 806 points, remaining in first place overall with a total of 1,808 points.Â
Wilson also picked up an additional 509 points in the shot put and earned 665 points in the long jump to slide into fourth place with 2,982 points.Â
In the 800-meter, Wilson grabbed 643 points to end the day in fifth place overall with 3,625 points and earn the Lumberjack women's first four points of the meet; Wilson's final point total breaks her previous personal best by 143 points.Â
The first day of team competition will start tomorrow at 3 P.M. (MST).Â
