LAS VEGAS, NV. (March 24, 2022) - The 'Jacks fell to ITA ranked No. 40 Washington Huskies on Thursday afternoon in a 6-1 loss.

Doubles play showed a slow start for NAU as they dropped matches on courts one and three. Eban Straker-Meads and Facundo Tumosa fell 3-6, followed by Daniel Dillon and Maciej Ziomber dropping their match 6-4.

Dominik Buzonics and Alex Groves were down 4-5 on court two before the match was retired to move on to singles play.

As the Lumberjacks wrapped up their non-conference play for the season, the team showed momentum in Thursday's loss, with set wins coming from Straker-Meads, Groves, and Freshman Dani Torres.

Straker-Meads battled at the No. 2 position, forcing three sets to Ewen Lumsden. Straker-Meads earned the 6-4 first set win, followed by a tough 6-7 second set loss, and a 5-10 tiebreaker to drop the match.

Torres took his first set, with a 6-4 win, before falling 5-7 in the second set, and 3-6 in the third at the No. 6 position.  Groves secured the Lumberjacks their lone point of the match in thrilling fashion with a 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 victory at the No. 5 position.
