TEMPE, Ariz. (April 7, 2022) — With three events still remaining, Madeline Wilson finishes day one of the women's heptathlon with 3,144 points.
Wilson began the afternoon running her second-fastest career 100-meter hurdle time of 14.24 to score 945 points.
In the high jump, Wilson picked up 747 points with a consistent height of 1.61 meters.
Later, Wilson threw a lifetime personal best shot put mark of 10.61 to add another 596 points to her running total.
Wilson capped the day with 3,144 points 2 after her 25.04 200-meter dash effort.
The women's heptathlon will continue with the long jump, javelin and the 800-meter run tomorrow evening; tomorrow also marks the first day of team competition.
