TEMPE, Ariz. (April 9, 2022) — Northern Arizona finishes the last day of the Sun Angel Classic with new Big Sky event leaders.
On the track, Alyssa Colbert and David Dunlap continued their streak of setting Big Sky season-best times, as Dunlap's 100-meter effort of 10.40 replaces his previous leading conference time, and Colbert's 11.69 100-meter mark places second only to her own current first place time.
Trenton Givens (13.84) gave a first place Big Sky performance in the men's 110-meter hurdles, while Melanie Loff (2:07.39) ran a new women's 800-meter Big Sky season best.
The Lumberjacks recorded yet another successful day in the field, as the jump and throws squads gave it their all.
Mitchell Effing becomes the men's long jump Big Sky leader with a mark of 7.49 meters, while Jenna Figueroa ties the current women's conference leading triple jump mark of 12.28 meters.
Meanwhile, Carly Watts continued her weekend momentum, throwing 15.00 meters in the women's shot put to rank second in the Big Sky; Jake Arnold (17.73m) and Trevor Hook (64.04m) respectively threw the shot put and the javelin to each hold third in the conference.
Northern Arizona track and field will be back in action next weekend, as they travel between the Bryan Clay Invitational, Mt. Sac Relays, and the Pacific Coast Collegiate.
