EUGENE, Ore. (June 23, 2022) – Northern Arizona Alumna Brooke Andersen will compete for Team USA at the 2022 World Athletics Championships after marking 77.96 meters to become the women's hammer throw national champion.
Andersen posted a strong series, while respectively recording 76.30 meters, 77.91 meters, 77.96 meters, and 76.14 meters, and only fouling her first and fifth attempts.
Earlier today, Garret Bernt finished eighth overall in the men's U20 hammer throw with a lifetime best mark of 58.85 meters, and Jade Kwinn placed sixth overall in the women's U20 javelin throw with a mark of 44.52 meters.
Alyssa Colbert will compete for the Lumberjacks tomorrow in the women's U20 100-meter dash at 1:52 p.m. (MST).
