Oltrogge Earns First Career Big Sky Player of the Week Award

FARMINGTON, Utah (January 31, 2023) – Finishing with her ninth double-double of the season in this past Saturday's victory at Northern Colorado, senior forward Montana Oltrogge earned Big Sky Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors on Tuesday afternoon.

Oltrogge's 15 points, 10 rebounds and career-high four steals led the Lumberjacks in each category as they came away with a 62-59 victory in overtime against the Bears in Greeley, Colo. Hitting a jumper to tie the game at 49-49 with 5:29 remaining in the fourth quarter, the senior connected on a pair of three-pointers to give the Lumberjacks a six-point lead with just two minutes remaining. Oltrogge's four steals led to six points for Northern Arizona, which scored 21 points on 22 Northern Colorado turnovers in the victory.

It was the second straight game Oltrogge has come up big for the Lumberjacks in the final quarter after scoring 19 points to help force overtime in Cheney, Wash. against the Eastern Washington Eagles.

Through nine conference games, Oltrogge is averaging 18.0 points and 9.4 rebounds to rank fourth and second respectively during conference play. Oltrogge is the only player to rank among the Top four of both categories within conference games and is also one of just three to rank within the Top 10 of both. Additionally, Oltrogge's nine double-doubles ranks 31st in the nation and second in the Big Sky. Averaging a career-high 14.0 points and 8.5 rebounds in her first season as a Lumberjack, Oltrogge has hit career milestones of 1,000 points against Montana State and 500 career rebounds against Northern Colorado.

Sitting at 187 rebounds this season, ranking 44th in the nation, Oltrogge is 46 rebounds away from tying for 10th in a single season at Northern Arizona. With at least 10 games remaining on the schedule and an 8.5 rebounds per game average, Oltrogge is currently on pace to reach 272 rebounds which would put her second all-time for a single season behind the program record of 300 set by Michelle Kirby in the 1989-90 season.

It's the first Big Sky Player of the Week honor for a Lumberjack in nearly two years, with Khiarica Rasheed winning the honor on Feb. 8, 2021.

Northern Arizona hosts Montana State on Thursday and Montana on Saturday, with both games set for 6 p.m. tipoffs on Findlay Toyota Court in the Walkup Skydome.
