FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (November 19, 2023) – The third and final day of the fall 2023 Lumberjack Diving Invite saw success both at the individual and team levels. The eight teams competed in the platform stage, performing five dives.
Two Northern Arizona divers, sophomores Mackenna Stocker and Grace Wesche, qualified for the NCAA Zone Championships on the platform. Stocker closed the Lumberjack Diving Invite, finishing second out of 30 divers with a final tally totaling 242.65 points. While Wesche's 227.35 was good for fourth.
Three other Lumberjacks would have scores within the top ten: sophomore Margaret Wesche, senior Maegan Jensen, and senior Reaney Preston.
The last event of the invite was a team event in which the three Northern Arizona diving teams had the three best scores of the five total teams.
NAU's 'C' team of Preston, Stocker and Grace Wesche took home top billing with a score of 276.60.
Right behind them was the 'B' team featuring Preston, Stocker and Magaret Wesche, earning a 270.80.
Third place belonged to the 'A' grouping of senior Victoria Knapp, junior Kendall Marquez and Jensen, scoring 268.55.
The swimming and diving programs will be back together on Dec. 8 when they will go head-to-head against Northern Colorado in their second WAC dual meet of the season.
