Swimming and Diving Release 2023-24 Schedule

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (August 25, 2023) – After finishing the 2022-23 season with a 10th straight WAC Conference Championship, head coach Andy Johns and NAU Swimming and Diving's quest to extend their decade of dominance will begin with the 28th annual pentathlon on Sept. 22. 

In addition to continuing its conference championship streak, it was a season full of breaking records. All nine of head diving coach Nikki Kelsey's divers qualified for the NCAA Zone Championships for the first time in program history. Individual records were set by Haley Mayhew in the 200 IM and 200 breaststroke and Casey Craffey in the 500 free. 

Three weeks later, the Lumberjacks will remain at home and host their Blue vs. Gold meet on Oct. 13 before beginning their regular season on Oct. 20 with a road date with Idaho. Last season, it was a 182-110 victory for the host Lumberjacks last season which was a 14th victory in 15 attempts versus the Vandals. 

Another repeat opponent from 2022 in New Mexico will come to the Wall Aquatic Center on Nov. 4. The November dual meet will be the 35th all-time meeting between the Lumberjacks and Lobos, with each school having been victorious 17 times in the head-to-head series. 

The swimmers and divers will then split up the weekend of Nov. 15, with the swimmers heading to Grand Junction, Colorado, to compete at the Colorado Mesa Invite while the divers will remain in Flagstaff, hosting the first of two Lumberjack Diving Invites. 

A pair of home dual meets await the Lumberjacks in the month of December, with matchups featuring Northern Colorado on Dec. 8 and New Mexico State from Dec. 15-16. 

The 2024 calendar year will begin with a pair of PAC-12 opponents with a dual meet in Tucson against Arizona on Jan. 5 before the Lumberjacks head to the UCLA Diving Invite in Los Angeles on Jan. 12-14. 

Northern Arizona returns home for a meeting with Utah Tech Jan. 26-27 and will host its second Lumberjack Diving Invite of the season from Feb. 2-4. 

Once again, the 2024 WAC Conference Championships will be held at the City of Pharr Natatorium in Pharr, Texas, Feb. 28-March 3. 

In its traditional two-year rotation with Seattle, the 2023-24 season will see the Wall Aquatic Center host the Zone Diving Championships March 11-13. This Zone championships will lead into the NCAA Championships to be held March 20-23 on the campus of the University of Georgia.
