FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (August 30, 2023) – The Northern Arizona University cross country teams were each ranked highly in the USTFCCCA Preseason National Coaches Poll released today.
The men were ranked first in the nation after a season in which they brought home their sixth NCAA National Championship. They return many important members of the championship team, including
Nico Young and
Drew Bosley who placed second and third respectively at the national meet. The men's team were also ranked first in the Mountain Region in the poll released yesterday.
The women enter their season ranked second in the nation following a season which saw them place sixth at the NCAA National Championships, the second highest finish in school history.
Elise Stearns will return this season after finishing fourth at the national meet last year. The women were ranked first in the Mountain Region in the poll released yesterday.
The Lumberjacks will open their season this weekend, with their only home meet on Saturday Sept. 2 at Buffalo Park in the 43
rd Annual George Kyte Classic.
