FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (September 25, 2023) – Drew Bosley was named USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week following his performance at the Virginia Invitational.
Bosley won the individual title at the Virginia Invitational, pulling away in the final 1K of the race to secure his victory. He ran a time of 23:20.3, a full 3 seconds ahead of the second-place runner.
Bosley led the Lumberjack men to an easy victory, with the team scoring a total of only 71 points. NAU finished 30 points ahead of the second-place team, third-ranked BYU.
This is the fifth time that a male athlete from Northern Arizona has been named the USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week during the cross country season. Bosley joins
Theo Quax (2022), Luis Grijalva (2021), Abdihamid Nur (2021), and Jack Shea (2018) on the list of Lumberjacks to earn the honor.
Bosley and the Lumberjacks will be back in action this weekend as they head to Tucson for the Dave Murray Invitational on Friday, Sept. 29.
