FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (January 10, 2024) – The Northern Arizona University diving team is heading to the West Coast this weekend to compete in the 2024 Bruin Diving Invitational, hosted by UCLA. Events will take place from Jan. 12-14.
The Bruins will host NAU and 13 different teams including USC, Minnesota, Fresno State, Cal Baptist, UNLV, Stanford, BYU, Utah, Pepperdine, San Diego State, Wisconsin, San Jose State and Hawaii.
Last Time Out: The Lumberjacks earned a split in Tucson at Hillenbrand Aquatic Center as they picked up a victory against Southern Illinois by a score of 174-126, but fell to Arizona by a score of 180-117.
Grace Wesche placed second overall in 1-meter diving with a score of 270.45. In the 3-meter event, the Lumberjacks placed second through sixth.
Mackenna Stocker led the way for the Lumberjacks in second place with a score of 286.65.
Maegan Jensen (282.45),

Margaret Wesche (281.95) and
Victoria Knapp (257.70) rounded things out.

At the Lumberjack Diving Invite in November, Senior
Maegan Jensen's 265 points in the preliminary was the best score of the 31 divers and was the lone diver in preliminaries to have an NCAA Championships qualifying score. Additionally,
Mackenna Stocker and
Grace Wesche qualified for the NCAA Zone Championships. Stocker scored 242.65 points and
Wesche earned 227.35 points, respectively.
This is the only time the Lumberjacks will visit the state of California this season. Action is set to begin at 11:30 a.m. MST. on Friday from Spieker Aquatics Center on the UCLA campus.
Up Next: The Lumberjacks will return home to Flagstaff to Wall Aquatic Center as they host WAC-opponent Utah Tech.
