Swimming and Diving Secure 167-133 Win Over Idaho Vandals

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (Nov. 2, 2024) - The Northern Arizona women's swimming and diving team took on the Idaho Vandals today in the Wall Aquatic Center, ending with a victory of 167-133.

"We're pleased with the result for sure," head swimming coach Andy Johns said. Our drivers were solid.  Across the board, we had some great swims and great efforts, and Idaho came in here and gave us a good meet. We're happy to get a win against a good conference opponent, but already, we have work to do to get better next week and just keep getting better throughout the season."

Trelise Dance took two titles from the meet. Firstly, in the 100-yard breaststroke, with a time of 1:03.32. Secondly, the 200-yard breaststroke, recording a 2:20.39 time.

Casey Craffey took the title in the 1,000-yard freestyle, recording a time of 10:14.76. She would also place second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:05.07.

The 200-yard freestyle title was claimed by Helena Robla who posted a time of 1:51.52.

Kylie Ney recorded the fastest time in the 500-yard freestyle, with a 5:01.05. 

Elsa Musselman was the fastest in the 100-yard butterfly, with a time of 54.12 and Isahbel Krasht took the 200-yard butterfly title with a time of 2:04.71.

Mackenna Stocker won both of the diving events (one meter and three meters), scoring 304.13 and 323.70, respectively.

Of the two team relays, Idaho would come out on top with a 1:42.64 in the 200-yard medley relay, and 1:33.78 in the 200-yard freestyle relay. 

Idaho's Ginger Keifer took three event titles, including the 100-yard backstroke, 200-yard backstroke and the 200-yard IM. Ella Haskins would take first in the 50 and 100-yard freestyles for the Vandals. 

The Lumberjacks will next meet New Mexico State on Nov. 9 at 10:00 a.m. Mountain Standard time.
