FARMINGTON, Utah (Nov. 26, 2024) – Northern Arizona women's basketball player
Taylor Feldman has been named the Big Sky Conference's Player of the Week for the first time this season and the second time in her career, the league office announced this morning.
Feldman is the third Lumberjack to claim weekly honors this year, joining
Sophie Glancey and
Nyah Moran as NAU has now claimed three-straight weekly awards.
Her award comes on the heels of a week that saw Northern Arizona knock off in-state foes Arizona at home before traveling to Fort Collins where it picked up a road victory at Colorado State. The Lumberjacks are 5-1 on the year for its best start since 2005-06, winning four-straight.
On the week, the junior averaged 20.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.0 steals per game. The Tustin, Calif., native shot 37.5 percent from the field (12-32), 33.3 percent from three-point range (6-18) and 73 percent from the free throw line (11-15).
Against Colorado State, she set career-highs in points scored (25), rebounds (12), field goals made and attempted (8-20) and three-pointers made and attempted (4-10) while dishing a season high six assists. She earned her first career double-double in the win and is the third Lumberjack to score over 20 points in a game this season.
In NAU's win over Arizona, she scored 16 points and dished five assists, making 2-of-12 from the field, 2-of-8 from three-point range and 6-of-7 from the free throw line.
This season, Feldman has played in five games with four starts. She is third on the team and fourth in the Big Sky with 14.6 points per game, scoring in double figures in four games this year. Feldman also ranks eight in the conference in free throw percentage (72.7%), 15
th in the three-pointers made (7), fifth in assists (20, 4.0), fourth in assist/turnover ratio (1.7) and second in minutes per game (33.0).
Northern Arizona heads to St. Petersburg, Fla., for the St. Pete Showcase. The Lumberjacks face James Madison on Thanksgiving Day at 1:30 p.m. Mountain Standard time and Tulane on Nov. 30 at 11 a.m. MST.
