FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (May 20, 2024) – The NAU track & field team will send athletes to compete at the NCAA West Regional this week in Fayetteville, Ark. as they continue postseason competition.
Garret Bernt will begin competition for NAU on Wednesday at 8:00 a.m. MST as he competes in the hammer throw.
Mitchell Effing will compete in the long jump at 4:00 p.m. MST, while
Parker Bays will conclude field event competition on Wednesday in the shot put at 5:00 p.m.
Colin Sahlman will be the first Lumberjack to take to the track, competing in the 1,500-meter first round at 4:30 p.m.
Kyle Smith will compete in the first round of the 200-meter at 6:45 p.m. MST, with
Cael Grotenhuis and
Aaron Las Heras concluding competition for the day as they compete in the semifinals of the 10,000-meter at 7:19 p.m. MST.
Sariyah Horne-Kemp will open competition for the women as she competes in the hammer throw at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday.
Maggi Congdon and
Keira Moore will both compete in the first round of the 1,500-meter at 4:30 p.m. MST.
Kyairra Reigh will run in the first round of the 400-meter at 5:25 p.m. MST, with
LiNay Perry competing in the 400-meter hurdles first round at 6:20 p.m. MST.
Madeline Wilson will compete in the first round of the 200-meter at 6:45 p.m. MST.
Thursday competition will conclude with the semifinals of the 10,000-meter, with
Anna Fenske,
Ruby Smee,
Aliandrea Upshaw, and
Meagan Van Pelt competing for NAU.
Mitchell Effing will be the lone field athlete competing for NAU on Friday, competing in the triple jump at 4:00 p.m. MST.
The 1,500-meter quarterfinals will take place at 3:15 p.m. MST with the quarterfinals for the 200-meter taking place at 5:50 p.m. MST.
Concluding competition on the track for the men will be
Cael Grotenhuis,
Brodey Hasty,
Kang Nyoak, and
Nico Young as they compete in the semifinals of the 5,000-meter at 6:10 p.m. MST.
Kenashalee Kerr will begin the final day of competition for NAU as she competes in the quarterfinals of the triple jump on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. MST.
The 1,500-meter quarterfinals will take place at 3:15 p.m. MST.
Karrie Baloga will compete in the quarterfinals of the 3,000-meter steeplechase at 3:40 p.m. MST.
The 400-meter quarterfinals will take place at 4:50 p.m. MST, with the 400-meter hurdle quarterfinals taking place at 5:25 p.m. MST and the 200-meter quarterfinals taking place at 5:50 p.m. MST.
The 5,000-meter semifinals will take place at 6:10 p.m. MST, with
Gracelyn Larkin,
Ava Mitchell,
Nikita Moore,
Bryn Morley,
Annika Reiss, and
Aliandrea Upshaw competing for NAU.
NAU will conclude competition with the women's 4x400-meter relay quarterfinals at 6:45 p.m. MST.
