LAS VEGAS (November 28, 2025) – The Northern Arizona women's basketball team made it a four-point game at halftime but couldn't sustain its pace and fell 86-62 to Creighton on Friday afternoon inside the Thomas and Mack Center. It was NAU's second contest of the UNLV Thanksgiving Turkey-Tip Off.
J'Bionna Robinson had a career day in the contest, as the freshman posted 19 points on 5-of-12 shooting to go along with five boards, three assists, and two steals.
Simone Morris tacked on 13 points and four rebounds for her fourth game scoring in double figures this season. NAU won the turnover battle 18-15 and capitalized on 14 points from those miscues to Creighton's ten.
The Bluejays began 6-of-8 from the floor and jumped out to a 13-4 lead midway through the period and led 24-10 after the opening frame as NAU suffered its lowest scoring output in a first quarter this season.
The 'Jacks kicked it up a notch in the second, turning a 31-22 game with just under five to go before the half into a 31-27 game at the break thanks to a 15-0 run. NAU held Creighton scoreless for the final 4:54 of the period, during which they forced five Bluejay turnovers and six straight misses while finishing the quarter 6-of-7 from the floor. Creighton's seven points in the frame are also the fewest by an NAU opponent in any quarter this season.
NAU kept the deficit in single digits into the third, but hot shooting from beyond the arc allowed Creighton to lead by 22 into the final frame as they registered 33 points in the period.
The 'Jacks played Creighton for the first time since 1998, and trail 1-4 in the all-time series.
NAU continues its swing on the road as it travels north to take on St. Thomas as part of the Big Sky-Summit Challenge on Dec. 3. Tipoff is scheduled for 10 a.m. Mountain Standard time and will be streamed on Midco Sports Plus.
