NAU Locks Down CSUN in Road Win

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. (December 18, 2025) – Four Lumberjacks recorded at least three steals as the Northern Arizona women's basketball team pounded the paint for 38 points in a 77-56 road win over Cal State Northridge on Thursday night inside Premier America Credit Union Arena.

NAU (3-9) wins its second straight as it also picks up the first road win of the season. Naomi White (27 points) and Madison Watts (20 points) led the way offensively for the 'Jacks, who shot 44% from the floor while holding the Matadors (5-5, 1-1 Big West) to 27% shooting, the season-low by a foe this year in both field goal percentage and points.

Watts strung together her third straight game putting up career-high numbers, as she set her personal best in points on 69% (9-of-13) shooting, while also contributing seven rebounds and three steals. White also had a day on the glass as she pulled down a career-high ten boards while also grabbing five steals for her first career double-double.

Defensively, Audrey Taylor tied her career-high in steals with six, while J'Bionna Robinson had three takeaways of her own. The Lumberjacks pressured all night long, as CSUN committed a season-high 35 turnovers.

Although the Matadors got out to a 6-0 advantage to start, NAU quickly responded with a 7-0 run to slowly build a lead throughout the first half for a 37-23 edge after 20 minutes.

Following six steals in the second period and a 10-0 run midway through the third quarter capped off by a Watts layup, the Lumberjacks then built a lead as large as 26 and would not let it get inside of double digits the rest of the way.

White and Watts are the first duo to score 20 or more points in a contest since Sophie Glancey and Taylor Feldman each had 23 and 22 points respectively against Arizona on March 20 last season.

Entering tonight's contest, Naomi White led amongst freshman and ranked ninth overall in the nation in scoring, as she recorded 25 points or more for the sixth time this season.

NAU will remain in California and visit defending Big West Champion UC San Diego on Saturday, December 20. Tipoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. Mountain Standard time and will be streamed on ESPN+.
