The Lumberjacks won the doubles point by winning two out of the three doubles matches.
Jakub Prachar and
Jakub Volesky won their doubles match at the No. 1 spot, 6-2. Then, the No. 2 doubles pair of
Piotr Galus and
Dani Torres clinched the point for NAU after they won, 6-2 as well.
The Lumberjacks built upon their 1-0 lead by swiping all six of the singles matches. On court one, Torres had a smooth straight set win, 6-2, 6-2. The win moves Torres' record in singles to 8-3 on the season.
Prachar won in a third set 10-point tiebreaker in an extremely close match. Prachar won by only two points with a match score of 7-5, 6-7, 11-9.
Galus, Volesky and
Semen Agynskyy all won in straight sets. Galus won his match, 7-6, 6-3, and Volesky took the victory by the scoreline of 6-3, 6-2. Agynskyy grabbed a bagel in the second set of his match, 6-3, 6-0.
Takumi Katsuda played at the No. 6 position and wrapped up his day with a win, 7-6, 7-6. Katsuda has a 5-2 record when he plays at the No. 6 spot in the lineup.
The win over Weber State moves the Lumberjacks record to 8-6. NAU is undefeated in conference with a 3-0 record.
The Next match for the lumberjacks is tomorrow at 10 a.m. when they take on the Montana Grizzlies to try and get their third win in a row. The Match will take place in Flagstaff at the Wall Aquatic and Tennis Complex.
