FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (April 12, 2025) – Northern Arizona Women's Tennis capped off the regular season with a 7-0 victory over the Weber State Wildcats on Saturday morning, extending their win streak to 11-straight matches while going 8-0 in Big Sky Conference play. Today's win marks an undefeated 10-0 season at home for the Jacks.
Senior
Laura Duhl and partner Patrcyja Niewiadomska brought in the first doubles victory of the day with a 6-2 win at the No. 2 slot over Weber State's Cindy Li and Savannah Johnson. Securing the doubles point and the 1-0 lead heading into singles play,
Elen Jantacova and
Daryna Shoshyna followed suit with a 6-2 victory of their own at the No. 1, knocking WSU's pairing of Jessica Hill and Sydney Schnell.
Andrea Noguera brought the Jacks to a 2-0 lead with the first singles victory of the day, picking up a 6-2, 6-0 at the No. 4 slot over Wildcat Alicia Morales. Shoshyna would give the Jacks a 3-0 lead with a win following a WSU injury retirement with Shoshyna leading the match at 6-2, 1-1. Clinching the match, Jantacova pulled off the two-set tiebreak victory at 6-1, 7-6 (7-4) at the No.5.
Quickly following, Duhl earned a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Cindy Li at the No. 3 for the 5-0 lead. Niewadomska earned a comeback tiebreak victory at the No. 2, defeated Jessica Hill in a 6-0, 7-6 (7-4) final.
Ruslana Kovalenko closed the match out with an impressive comeback tiebreak victory at the No. 6 to finish 6-3, 7-6 (7-5).
The Jacks will now get set for the Big Sky Championships, set to take place April 24-26 at the Phoenix Tennis Center.
