Jacks Grab Third Transfer in Isaiah Shaw Signing

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (May 7, 2025) – Transfer Isaiah Shaw has announced his commitment to Northern Arizona Basketball following three seasons with GCU and a year, most recently, at Valparaiso. The 6'8 small forward will join the Jacks with two years of eligibility remaining and will wear No. 24.

"We are excited to have Isaiah signed and get him up to Flagstaff. We have known him for a while, having played against him while at GCU and watching him at Valparaiso. He has good size at 6'8" and can play at multiple positions. We feel that with his versatility, he will be an immediate and major contributor to our 2025-26 team," head coach Shane Burcar said.

Shaw comes two high schools in Davidson Academy in Nashville where he averaged 17.5 points a game, 6.5 rebounds, and shot 40.0 percent from three-point range, and Phoenix Prep where he played his final year as a senior.

Appearing in all 33 contests for Valparaiso, Shaw averaged 4.8 points per game for the Beacons while scoring a career high of 15 points against Drake. During Shaw's three-year stint with Grand Canyon, he shot 35.6 percent from beyond the arc and appeared in the 2024 NCAA tournament victory over St. Mary's.

Isaiah is the son to Dana and Casey, who both played collegiate basketball for the university of Toledo. Shaw's father, Casey, was a pick in the 1998 NBA draft, drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers. Casey Shaw now serves as an assistant coach for GCU Men's Basketball, following a lengthy professional career. Isaiah Shaw is also the older brother to Caleb, who plays for GCU.
