Lumberjacks Add In-State Transfer, Traivar Jackson

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (May 8, 2025) – Grand Canyon transfer will join the Lumberjacks for the 2025-26 campaign, as Traivar Jackson announces his commitment to Northern Arizona Basketball. Jackson is a native of Anchorage, Alaska, and will play for the jacks in his senior season, sporting No. 3.

"We are excited to work with Traivar. He can help us, and we believe we can help him. We wanted to find a veteran that has both produced and has a chip on his shoulder, and he fits that into that description. His rebounding and athleticism stand out, and we are hopeful he will be able to end possessions defensively and extend them on offense. He has played for incredible coaches and we feel that with his experience he can be an impact player immediately," head coach Shane Burcar said.

Jackson played for Pima CC from 2021-2023 where he was named a two-time NJCAA All-American, earning second team honors in 2022 alongside third team honors in 2021 while averaging 18.9 points per game, 7.6 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks. Jackson recorded 20 double-double performances in 32 games, finishing the season with 23 blocks and 40 offensive rebounds. Jackson's career high in scoring came against Scottsdale CC where he dropped 36 points.

Traivar is the son to Kristine and Raynold Jackson. Raynold Jackson played college basketball at Alaska-Anchorage and Nevada. To stay up to date with NAU Basketball, follow the Jacks on X, Instagram, and Facebook.
