FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (June 11, 2025) - Head coaches Andy Johns and Nikki Kelsey have announced the addition of seven new Lumberjacks to the swimming and diving roster for Fall 2025.
Summer Ferguson, Kat Richer, Camryn Brown, Beezer Geer, Rosie Keith, Allie Hayes, and Mary Villeda will look to continue the program's tradition of excellence as the team transitions into the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation next season.
"We are excited to have all these great student-athletes choose to join us in Flagstaff this coming season," Johns said. "There is a ton of potential in the group, and with the help of our entire staff, we can't wait to see their development and how they will contribute to our championship tradition."
Summer Ferguson, from Austin, Texas, joins the team after being a four-year starter at James Bowie, where she served as captain for one year. During her time at James Bowie, she was named to the First Team All-District and First Team All-Region teams all four years. Academically, Ferguson earned the Trustee Award for ranking in the top 10 percent of her class. She chose Northern Arizona for its high-level coaching and the welcoming community atmosphere.
Kat Richer, from Murray, Utah, attended Murray High School, where she earned a second-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke at the 2025 Utah State Championships as a senior. In her junior year, she won the 200-yard individual medley and placed fourth in the 100-yard backstroke. Richer holds individual school records in the 200-yard freestyle and 200-yard medley, and was part of relay records in the 200-yard medley and 400-yard freestyle. She was also a member of the Wasatch Front Market Sectional team in 2021 and 2025, earning Academic All-Region honours. She chose NAU for the supportive coaching staff, outstanding campus, academic opportunities, and athletic facilities.
Camryn Brown comes from Lithia, Florida, after a four-year career at Newsome, where she qualified for the State Championships each year. Her honors include 2021 Female Newcomer of the Year, 2022 MVP Female Swimmer of the Year, 2023 Coaches' Award, and the 2024 Jake Cool Memorial Team Award. She was also named Hillsborough County Female Swimmer of the Year in both 2022 and 2024, becoming one of only three athletes to earn the award twice.
Beezer Geer, from Phoenix, Arizona, graduated from Thunderbird, where she was a National Honor Society member, four-year letterwinner, and two-year team captain. Geer is a three-time medalist at the AIA High School State Championships, winning bronze in the 100-yard fly in 2022 and 2023, and in the 100-yard breaststroke in 2023. She earned the GUHSD District Championships High Point Award in 2022. A member of Swim Neptune, she holds the club record in the 100-yard fly. Geer comes from a family of NAU alumni, including her parents, uncle, and grandfather, with her brother currently enrolled as a student. She was drawn to Northern Arizona for its outdoor lifestyle and the chance to be part of a supportive and close-knit team.
Rosie Keith, a native of Lebanon, New Hampshire, transfers from Villanova. She was a standout on Hanover's varsity swim team, earning multiple State Championship titles. She twice claimed victories in the 200-yard medley relay (2021, 2024) and the 100-yard freestyle (2023, 2024). Keith was also a state runner-up in the 200-yard medley relay (2022, 2023) and 50-yard freestyle (2023, 2024). She set school records in the 50-yard free, 100-yard free, and 200-yard medley relay. Competing with EDGE Swim Club VT, she holds records in the 50, 100, 200, and 500-yard freestyle events, along with the 100 and 200-yard butterfly and the 200-yard individual medley. Keith also lettered in varsity crew. She chose NAU for its strong tradition of swimming success and the welcoming campus community.
Allie Hayes joins NAU as a transfer from Utah Tech. Originally from Portland, Oregon, she competed for Oregon City, where she earned four varsity letters and served as team captain for two years. Hayes swam with the Dolphins Portland Swimming Club for four years. She chose NAU to fulfill a lifelong dream of joining the program and was drawn to its outstanding facilities.
Mary Villeda joins as the fifth true freshman, graduating from Desert Oasis High School in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she holds the school record in the 100-yard backstroke. During her high school career, she won the Division IV State Championship in the 100-yard backstroke. Her older sister, Astrid, was a member of the NAU swimming and diving team and graduated in 2022. Mary chose NAU after falling in love with the school and the program while watching her sister compete. She was drawn to the campus, the welcoming community, and the supportive team environment.
