Maggi Congdon, Drew Bosley, Named NAU’s Big Sky Conference Scholar-Athletes

FARMINGTON, Utah (July 16, 2025) - Excelling in competition and the classroom during their decorated careers at Northern Arizona, a pair of cross country and track and field student-athletes in Maggi Congdon and Drew Bosley have been named NAU's Big Sky Conference Scholar-Athletes of the Year, as announced today by the league office.
 
A total of 22 student-athletes from the Big Sky's full-time members and football affiliates were honored. To be eligible for this award, the student-athlete must have exhausted his or her intercollegiate athletic eligibility and/or be a member of the graduating class, earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 (on a 4.0) scale, been a participant in a Big Sky-sponsored sport, completed at least two (2) years of intercollegiate competition at the institution, and been a letter winner.
 
During her time at NAU, Congdon earned 16 All-Conference awards on the track. This includes six individual titles and six as members of a relay. Indoors, she owns five school records, with her 800-meter, mile, 4x400-meter relay and the distance medley relay standing as Big Sky Conference records. The distance medley relay time of 10:39.44 is the third-fastest time run in NCAA history, and she was an All-American in 2025 in the mile after placing third at the NCAA Championships.
 
Outdoors, she was a 2025 All-American in the 1,500-meters. She ran the eighth fastest time in NCAA history in the 1,500-meters, clocking 4:05.73 for an NAU record. Outdoors, she also owns the school records in the 800-meters and the 4x400-meter relay, both of which are conference records. At the 2025 Big Sky Championships, she was named the Most Valuable Athlete.
 
Congdon was also a four-year member of the cross country program helping NAU finish fourth at the NCAA Championships in 2024 and second in 2022.
 
The Steamboat Springs, Colo., native graduated with her degree in civil engineering, boasting a 3.47 GPA.
 
Bosley holds the indoor school and conference record in the 3,000-meters, clocking 7:36.42 in January of 2023 which stood as an NCAA record until the 2025 season. In 2025, he earned four All-American nods on the track. On a conference level, Bosley left his mark. He was named the Big Sky's Most Outstanding Performer at the indoor championships in 2025 after winning the 3,000-meters, 5,000-meters and placing second in the mile. Bosley was also a champion in the 3k and 5k indoors in 2023, winning the 5k in 2022 as well. Outdoors, he won the 5k in 2022.
 
In cross country, Bosley won the individual conference title in 2021 and 2019 and finished runner up in 2022. He was a part of three NCAA National Championships in cross country and helped the men's team finish runner up in 2019 and 2023, finishing fifth in the nation at the 2023 NCAA cross country championships.
 
The Thiensville, Wisc., native was NAU's top scholar athlete in 2024. He graduated with his degree in educational foundations with a cumulative GPA of 3.4.
