FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (September 11, 2025) – Northern Arizona and McNeese have agreed to a two-game home-and-home football series with matchups in 2028 and 2029, in an announcement by both schools on Thursday.
The teams will play on Sept. 16, 2028, at McNeese in Lake Charles, La., followed by a game in Flagstaff at Findlay Toyota Field at the Walkup Skydome on Aug. 25, 2029.
When the teams square off in Lake Charles in 2028, it will be the Lumberjacks' return to the site of one of the biggest victories in program history. NAU upset top-ranked and top-seeded McNeese, 35-3, in the first round of the 2003 Division I-AA playoffs in the only previous meeting between the two programs.
McNeese is a two-time I-AA/FCS national runner-up and 14-time Southland Conference champions.
