FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (October 20, 2026) – After scoring three goals in the last two matches,
Valerie Llamas was named the Big Sky's Co-Offensive Player of the Week and listed Honorable Mention on TopDrawerSoccer's National Team of the Week, both announced Tuesday morning. Llamas is the fourth Lumberjack to receive a weekly laurel this year, joining
Micala Boex,
Emery Copeland, and
Lexi Saveski. She shares the Co-Offensive honor with Weber State's Lily Blum, and is the first NAU player to receive national recognition this season.
NAU completed a 1-0-1 stretch last week, extending its unbeaten streak to seven matches. In a 1-1 draw with Southern Utah, Llamas converted a penalty kick in the 64th minute to equalize and then logged her first career brace in the second half against Utah Tech to power NAU to the 2-0 win, on just two shots.
Llamas is the second 'Jack to record a multi-goal game this season, as Boex recorded her first career brace earlier this year at Nevada on Sept. 3.
The Lumberjacks will play their final two home contests of 2026, starting with Montana on Oct. 22. Kickoff with the Griz is scheduled for 7 p.m. MST and will be streamed on ESPN+.
