FARMINGTON, Utah (October 13, 2026) – After recording her third consecutive shutout on Sunday, Northern Arizona soccer goalkeeper
Lexi Saveski has been named the Big Sky Co-Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday morning. The nod is Saveski's second of the season, as she shares the honor this week with Northern Colorado's Mia Norman.
NAU completed a 2-0 stretch last week, extending its unbeaten streak to five matches. During that time, Saveski and the NAU backline have allowed just one goal. The Lumberjacks opened Big Sky competition with a 1-0 win over Eastern Washington on Thursday and a 3-0 offensive outburst against Idaho on Sunday to stand at 6-4-2 on the year and 2-0 in conference play.
Saveski sits atop the Big Sky and 11th in the nation in save percentage (.879) and second in the league by a tenth of a point in GAA at 0.67. Overall, the redshirt junior has conceded just seven goals in 11 game appearances, and is one of 44 goalkeepers in the country to have conceded eight goals or fewer so far on the year.
The Lumberjacks hit the road this week to face the Utah schools, starting with Southern Utah on Thursday, Oct. 15. Kickoff with the Thunderbirds is scheduled for 2 p.m. MST and will be streamed on ESPN+.
