BOULDER CITY, Nev. (October 25, 2026) -Â The Northern Arizona women's golf team opened the Clash at Boulder Creek with an even-par 288, placing 12th among the 19 competing teams.
Leading the way is No. 24 Kansas, which posted a score of 267 (-21) and holds a three-shot advantage over Boise State at 270 (-18). At the top of the individual standings is Boise State's Leia Chung, who carded a 64 (-8). The fifth-year player from Hawaii recorded 10 birdies on the day and leads by one stroke over No. 130 Lyla Louderbaugh of Kansas and Rylee Salome of New Mexico State, who are tied at 7-under par.
Two hole-in-ones were recorded today, one by each of the Dakota teams. South Dakota State's Riko Danjo made an ace on the 169-yard fourth hole, while North Dakota State's Hannah Dunk lived up to her name by holing out on the 142-yard 17th hole.
Leading the Lumberjacks was senior Frankie Dezis. The Englishwoman began on the first hole and parred her way through the front nine. She holed out from 133 yards on the 10th for an eagle, then picked up a birdie on the 13th to finish the day with a 2-under-par 70. It marked the fifth round Dezis has scored par or better in the 10 rounds she has played this semester. She is tied for second in the field in total pars with 15. Dezis heads into the second round tied for 27th.
Freshmen Kristyna Malinova and Sofia Blanco both finished the day tied for 38th after carding rounds of 72 (E). Both played the front nine in 2-over par, with Blanco picking up birdies on the second and sixth holes. They bounced back on the back nine with matching 2-under-par 34s. Blanco added two more birdies on the 10th and 16th holes, while Malinova recorded three birdies on the 11th, 13th and 16th holes.
Ella Zanatta and Gracie Heinle also carded matching rounds, each shooting a 74 (+2). Zanatta, a junior from Canada, had 220 yards to the green on the par-5 fifth hole. She hit a 5-wood to the front fringe and proceeded to drain a 27-foot putt for eagle. Heinle's round was highlighted by two birdies, one on the par-5 ninth and another on the par-3 12th. The duo is tied for 66th heading into the second round.
Competing as an individual, freshman Martyna Muchajer shot a 4-over-par 76 to finish tied for 85th. Despite a tough start to the day with a triple bogey on her opening hole, she played the rest of the round in 1-over par, recording three birdies on the third, fifth and 16th holes.
Also competing as an individual, Alexa Ouellet returned to the clubhouse at 5-over par (77). The junior made birdies on the first and final holes of the Desert Hawk side of the golf course. She is tied for 93rd with two rounds remaining.
As a team, Northern Arizona is the only team to have recorded two eagles so far. The 'Jacks have tallied 10 birdies and lead the field in total pars with 64. They are averaging 3.05 (+1) on the par-3s, 4.10 (+5) on the par-4s and 4.80 (-4) on the par-5s.
The second round will begin at 8 a.m. MST tomorrow with a shotgun start. The Lumberjacks will play alongside Tarleton State, Utah Valley and Utah Tech, starting on holes eight through 10.
