Lumberjacks Dominant Bengals in Big Sky Opener

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (February 27, 2026) – The Northern Arizona men's tennis team secured all but one point up for grabs in its Big Sky Conference opening match as it took down Idaho State, 6-1.

NAU improves to 6-4 and 1-0 in league action while ISU falls to 3-6 and 0-1 in the Big Sky.

The match began with competitive action in doubles play, as the point came down to the victors of court three. Jakub Jedrzejczak and Jakub Volesky trailed 5-3, but rallied and took their court and the doubles point for NAU with a 7-6(7-3) tiebreaker win.

With the 1-0 lead, Jedrzejczak continued working as he took a win in straight sets on court two. Felix Neumeister followed his lead, going for a 6-4, 6-3 win on court five to put NAU on the verge of the clinch.

Volesky then fought back after a 6-1 second set loss to win his match in three sets on court three for the clinch as NAU took the 4-0 lead.

Tens and Noa Tcherniack then wrapped up the scoring for the day with three-set wins on courts six and one.

The Lumberjacks extend their home winning streak to 34 matches, dating back to early in the 2023 season.
