NAU Set for Regular Season Finale in Bozeman

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (March 1, 2026) – The Northern Arizona women's basketball team concludes the regular season in Bozeman, Montana tomorrow night against Montana State. The Lumberjacks will tipoff against the second-place Bobcats at 7 p.m. MST, and will be streamed on ESPN+.

NAU will look to snap a three-game skid heading into the Big Sky Championships next weekend as it stands at 10-20 and 6-11 in league games, following an 81-61 loss to Eastern Washington yesterday afternoon.

The preseason-favorite Bobcats have delivered on expectations this season as they bring a 22-6 record into this contest, including a 15-2 mark in conference games. Montana State took the first meeting in Flagstaff, 82-65, and most recently handled business in Sacramento State, beating the Hornets 61-54. Taylee Chirrick leads the way across the board statistically for the Cats, as she averages 17.9 points, seven boards, and 3.6 assists per game. Montana State's strength is in disorienting opponents, as it sits fourth in the nation in turnover margin (9.96). They are also the only Big Sky squad besides Northern Colorado to rank in the top four of the league in both scoring offense (75) and defense (61.3). Head Coach Tricia Binford is in her 21st season at the helm in Bozeman.
