OGDEN, Utah (March 1, 2026) – The Northern Arizona women's tennis team opened the month and Big Sky conference action with a 5-2 win over Weber State on Sunday afternoon at the Ogden Athletic Club.
NAU improves to 2-3 and 1-0 in league action while Weber State falls to 0-8 and 0-2 in conference matches.
The Jacks got off to a great start, sweeping all doubles courts for the early 1-0 lead.
Natalie Rainke and
Elen Jantacova were especially dominant as they took a 6-0 bagel win on court one.
Rainke then collected her second bagel on the day, as she took a straight-set 6-0, 6-1 win on court two. Jantacova followed her lead, taking a 6-1, 6-4 win on court four to put NAU on the verge of the clinch with the 3-0 lead.
Andrea Noguera then wasted no time and grabbed her first clinch on the season, also winning in straight sets on court three as NAU took the 4-0 lead.
Patrycja Niewiadomska extended her win streak in singles to three straight on court one, winning a tough, three-set match in a tiebreaker, 6-7, 6-3, 10-4.
The Wildcats then scored the last two points of the match, one by retirement on court five and the other with a win by Naomi Johnson over freshman
Mia Wolter.
