FARMINGTON, Utah (March 6, 2026) – Redshirt freshman
Naomi White has been voted the 2025-26 Big Sky Freshman of the Year, as well as to the First Team All-Conference, the league announced Friday afternoon.
White is the eighth player in program history to garner the Freshman of the Year award and the first since Alyssa Rader in 2016. It is also the fourth straight year at least one Lumberjack has been listed First Team All-Conference.
White led the league in several categories, including points per game (20.7), 3-pointers per game (2.9), 3-point percentage (37.2), and minutes per game (37.3). She also remained the top-scoring freshman in the country all season long, reaching as high as third overall during the season, and finished shooting 39.7% from the floor and 37.2% from beyond the arc, in addition to grabbing 5.3 rebounds, 1.9 steals, and dishing 1.8 assists per game. NAU as a team finished first in the Big Sky in 3-point percentage (33.4) and third in scoring offense (69.7).
18 out of 31 contests this season saw White score at least 20 points, including twelve with 25 or more, highlighted by a career-best 37 against Weber State on Jan. 8. The nine 3-pointers in that contest also set a program record for triples made in a single game, as White became the first freshman in the country with at least 50 triples on the season.
White also registered three double-doubles on the year, against CSUN on Dec. 18, Montana on Jan. 1, and Weber State on Feb. 7 by way of 31 points and 10 rebounds.
Earlier this year, White was one of just two players in the country start the season scoring over 20 in six straight contests, joined by Baylor's Taliah Scott who averaged 25.3 points a game in her first six games.
White and the No. 7 Lumberjacks begin competition in the Big Sky Championships, facing No. 8 Montana in the First Round on Saturday, March 7. Tipoff with the Griz is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. MST and will be streamed on ESPN+.
