FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (April 19, 2026) – The Northern Arizona men's tennis team closed the regular season with a 7-0 sweep over Idaho on Sunday afternoon at the NAU Outdoor Tennis Courts.
NAU enters next week's Big Sky Championships at 16-5 and 7-0 in league matches, securing the No. 1 seed in the tournament. The clean sheet in conference play marks back-to-back undefeated seasons for the Lumberjacks. NAU's last loss in conference play was over two years ago on March 31, 2024.
The Jacks honored senior
Takumi Katsuda and Graduate Assistant Coach
Dani Torres prior to the match. Katsuda went out victorious for his final match in Flagstaff, notching a hard-fought 1-6, 6-3, 6-3 win on court four.
NAU made quick work for the doubles point with wins in breadstick and bagel fashion on courts two and three, leaving Katsuda and Vohl unfinished up 4-2 on court one. The Jacks began singles play up 2-0 due to an Idaho forfeit on court six.
Volesky kept the Jacks on track, grabbing a 6-1, 6-3 win on court three.
Jakub Jedrzejczak clinched the match for NAU with a win in straight sets on court two, improving his team-best record to 15-4 on the season.
NAU then wrapped up the day with wins from
Noa Tcherniack, Katsuda, and Vohl to complete the sweep.
