BOZEMAN, Mont. (April 3, 2026) – It came down to the last court, as the Northern Arizona men's tennis team slipped by Montana State 4-3 on Friday afternoon at the Bobcat-Anderson Tennis Center.
NAU (13-5, 5-0 Big Sky) wins its sixth straight and remains atop the league standings with just two conference matches left before the Big Sky Championships later this month. The 4-3 decision is the Lumberjacks' smallest margin of victory on the season, and the first match of the season to come down to the final point. All 12 of NAU's previous victories were secured by at least three points.
Vincent Vohl earned the clinch on court six, as he improved to 5-0 on the season.
Jakub Jedrzejczak extended his conference-best win streak to nine matches, tying the longest streak achieved by a Lumberjack last season, by
Piotr Galus. The freshman has played five matches that have gone three sets this season, and after dropping the first two, has won the last three to stretch three sets.
The duo of Jedrzejczak and
Jakub Volesky collected their fourth bagel in doubles on the season on court two, while
Takumi Katsuda and Vohl improved to 8-2 as a pair on court 1 to grab the doubles point.
The Lumberjacks have now won 18 consecutive regular season conference matches dating back to the 2024 season.
