NAU Women's Basketball Announces Eight Transfers for 2026-27 Season

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (August 21, 2026) – The Northern Arizona women's basketball team completed its 2026-27 roster with the addition of eight transfers in an announcement by Head Coach Laura Dinkins on Friday.

The eight transfers bring NAU's total count to 10 newcomers for the upcoming season. The 10 new Lumberjacks will join four returners, including returning starters Emma Dasovich, Layla Davis, and Madison Watts to round out the roster. Guards Shayla Cordis and Naomi Johnson will stand as NAU's true freshman this year.

"After having one of the youngest rosters in the nation last year, we were determined to bring in players with a lot of college game experience while upgrading our versatility and length and balancing scoring and shooting," Dinkins said. "Our coaching staff and I believe we have executed this gameplan.  We have a group of young women who will embody and elevate our EDGE culture here at NAU.  I'm excited for Flagstaff and our NAU family to come support these young women as we compete for a Big Sky Championship this season."

This season's transfer class includes five directly from the Division I level and six total who have Division I experience. The group also includes two Division II transfers and one from the Junior College ranks.
