FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (August 4, 2026) – Northern Arizona Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Jarred Cornfield announced the hiring of Alexis Kebbe as assistant coach for the cross country and track & field programs, where she will primarily work with the women's team. Kebbe brings extensive experience and a strong history with NAU cross country and track & field through her time as both a student-athlete and coach.
Kebbe spent five collegiate seasons competing for the NAU cross country and track & field programs before serving as a volunteer assistant coach during the 2025-26 season.
"Returning to NAU as an assistant coach is an incredible privilege," Kebbe said. "I am excited for the opportunity to give back to a program that has played a significant role in my growth over the past six years as a student-athlete and volunteer coach."
During her collegiate career, Kebbe was a member of the program from 2021-25. As a student-athlete, she made a significant impact on the women's distance program. Over the course of her final three seasons, the women's cross country team placed in the top six at the NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships each year, including a runner-up finish in 2023. Individually, Kebbe placed 99th at the 2022 NCAA Championships, helping the team finish sixth overall that season.
Kebbe also made an impact on the track & field program. In her final season, she earned a bronze medal in the 10,000 meters at the 2025 Big Sky Conference Outdoor Championships and qualified for the 2025 NCAA West Preliminary Round in the event.

"Alexis has a deep-rooted history with the NAU track & field and cross country programs as she competed as a Lumberjack over five years and knows our program very well. I'm excited for her energy and passion for our athletes, community, and university. She will be an incredible asset for our program and I can't wait to get the cross country season going with Coach Kebbe."

In addition to her athletic accomplishments, Kebbe excelled academically. She earned her bachelor's degree in psychology in 2024 and completed her master's degree in organizational leadership in 2025.
