Fall 2021: Missed the season due to injury.

Spring 2021: Started all 5 games in the spring, splitting time between nickelback and safety in the Lumberjacks’ secondary... Finished fifth on the team with 24 tackles, adding 1.0 tackles for loss, 2 pass breakups, 1 quarterback hit and 1 interception... Interception came in the fourth quarter against Southern Utah, helping the Lumberjacks lock up the victory in Cedar City... Named All-Big Sky Second Team at defensive back.

2019: Started 8 games while playing in 10 for the Lumberjacks... Led the team in tackles (83) while primarily playing at safety... 63 tackles were solo, ranking 6th in the Big Sky Conference... Also finished second on the Lumberjacks with 5 pass breakups... Tied the program’s record for tackles in a game (18) against Idaho (11/23)... Also reached double-digit tackles against Portland State (10, 10/26) and Sacramento State (14, 11/9)... Recorded 3.0 tackles for loss at Montana State (9/28) accounting for 11 yards lost... Also forced a fumble against Montana State that led to a touchdown and a 21-0 lead for NAU... Returned a blocked extra point for a two-point conversion against Western New Mexico (9/14)... Fourth quarter interception against Sacramento State (11/9) led to a touchdown pass by the Lumberjacks to tie the game

2018: Enjoyed a breakout season which saw him take on numerous roles in the NAU secondary…saw action in a total of nine games while making a pair of starts…compiled a total of 35 tackles (25 solo), including four tackles for loss and a sack…registered four pass defenses and an interception…also forced a fumble and recorded a fumble recovery…tabbed three tackles and a sack in season-opening victory at FCS opponent UTEP (9/1)…rang up six tackles, forced a fumble and broke up two passes vs. Eastern Washington (9/8)…recorded four tackles and forced a fumble at Missouri State (9/15)…snagged first career interception in win over Southern Utah (9/22)…totaled five tackles, including one for loss, in victory over Weber State (10/6)…recorded six stops at UC Davis (11/3)…posted a season-best eight tackles, including a pair of TFLs vs. North Dakota (11/17).

2017: Redshirt season

High School: Attended De La Salle High School and competed for head coach Justin Alumbaugh…Was a two-time unanimous captain (first ever) and a three-time state champion…Was the first quarterback in school history to rush for 1,000 yards…Led the team in touchdowns…His junior year the team went 14-0 and his senior year the team finished 13-1 to become the No. 1 team in the country both years...

Personal: Son of Roddrick and Rosaria Sweeney…Has a brother, Roddrick Jr., and a sister, Giovanna…His father, Roddrick, played professional baseball in the Dodgers organization.
