Carlos Loaiza joined the Northern Arizona Athletics staff as
Manager of Equipment Operations in July of 2013. Loaiza will
oversee the purchase and distribution of athletic equipment for NAU
Athletics. He will also be responsible for the fitting of all
protective equipment.
Loaiza came to NAU after four years at San Diego State. While
with the Aztecs, Loaiza was in charge of the purchasing, fitting,
maintenance and distribution of equipment for the entire athletic
program, including the football squad.
Prior to SDSU, Loaiza spent one year at the University of Idaho,
as the school’s Director of Athletic Equipment Operations and
Services.
Originally from Miami, Fla., he was head equipment manager at
his alma mater, Florida International, for three years. He also
served a similar role with the Cologne Centurios of NFL Europe for
one season.
Loaiza had a one-year internship with the Miami Dolphins and was
an assistant equipment manager with the Centurions in 2004.
Loaiza graduated FIU with a bachelor’s degree in history.
He and his wife, Kim, have two daughters, Isabella Sophia and
Cecilia Katerina
